Have you ever heard of or used the Aoyama Gakuin University’s chat room? AGU started the chat room in April, 2008. The main purpose of the chat room is to give an opportunity to local AGU students and the exchange students to have an international exchange. The users are gradually increasing in number, and it is because the students return to the chat room to have international relations in their daily life.

The chat room has exchange students who lead the conversation who are called chat leaders. English, Korean and Chinese are the languages used in the conversations.

The chat room is held from 11:00 to 16:20 on weekdays and has three levels, including Basic, Intermediate and Advanced groups and each group is composed of 6 to 8 people. Any student can freely choose the time, language and the level on the Internet from the Aoyama Gakuin University portal for themselves.

The AGU students who can use these chat rooms are students from the elementary school to the postgraduate students. The content of the conversation changes as the levels change and always has topics to talk about, but changes on each day. The examples of the topics are movies, travel, fashion, your best friend, and many others. The theme is decided, but what you want to talk about is actually up to you, so the conversation you have will be natural. There is also a Japanese chat room for exchange students, and the content is the opposite of the English chat room. The difference is the time and day of the week; it is held from 16:40 to 17:20 on Wednesdays.

Many kinds of events are also held by the chat room, almost once a month. The most popular event is the coffee meeting, and it always has many people who want to join it, so it is in order of arrival. Coffee meeting is an event where exchange students and Japanese students can talk freely.

The participants can eat snacks, drink coffee, play some games and have free time to talk to each other. It is a great opportunity to make friends and have an international exchange.

The chat room, coffee meeting and other events are free to use if you are an AGU student. You can check all the chat room events, and the dates of the usual chat room on the Aoyama Gakuin University portal. Why not use this precious opportunity to talk to many people who have different backgrounds and polish your skills of communication?

チャットルームについて聞いたり利用したことはありますか。青山学院は2008年8月にチャットルームを始めた。チャットルームの目的は、青山学院の生徒と交換留学生に国際交流の機会を与えることにある。利用者はだんだん増えている。なぜなら、利用者はチャットルームを日常生活に組み込むようになるからである。

チャットルームはチャットリーダーとよばれる留学生がおり、会話をリードする。英語、韓国語そして中国語が特定の日に会話で使われる言語である。

チャットは平日の11時から16時20分までやっており、レベルは3つ、Basic、Intermediate、Advancedがあり、6から8人のグループで行う。どんな生徒も自由に時間、言語そしてレベルを青山ポータルから自由に予約することができる。

青山学院の生徒とは、小学生から大学院生のことまでをいう。会話の内容はレベルごとに変わるがいつもテーマを持ち、それは日ごとに変化する。例としては映画、旅、ファッション、一番の友人などがある。テーマは決められているが、何を話すかはあなた次第であるため、会話は自然なものになる。留学生のための日本語のチャットというものもある。違いは時間と日にちであり、水曜日の16時40分から17時20分まで行われる。たくさんのイベントも一か月に一度ほど開かれる。

一番人気はコーヒーミーティングであり、先着順で参加者が決まる。コーヒーミーティングは生徒が自由に話す機会である。参加者は飲み物や食べ物やゲームを楽しみ、国際交流の機会を得る。青山学院の学生であればこれらはすべて自由に利用でき、青山ポータルからつねに情報を得ることができる。この絶好の機会をのがしてはいけない。
